Highlights found in the margins —notes from Thomas Conger.

Hi, my name’s Tom. I’m an Echols Scholar at the University of Virginia.

My interests center around what Niko Canner coins ‘Human Enterprise’. I’m fascinated by the ways humans organize themselves, and I delight in thinking about and investigating institutions. I’ve worked with Dominion Energy and the United States Department of the Army. I recently wrote a paper on the difficulties of understanding oil concessions in 1930s Oman within existing theories of sovereignty.

William Zinnser, the author of On Writing Well, says that, “writing is thinking on paper.” This blog is a portfolio of my thoughts as well as a place for friends and conversation. Please: read, reconsider, and respond.
